This and the border lengths and fringing must have been very expensive when they were made and for an important house. Rich colours and very of the period. Unfortunately there is no provenance.

pelmet of plush embroidered with a central urn with flames, flanked by swags of sunflowers and ribbons, the lower edge shaped to drop down at the ends, with braid and tasselled fringe, stiffened and lined with green fine wool, 10 ft x 20 in; 3m x 52 cm
Tack markings to top and some very slight fading but once up this would not be seen. Backing faded and with some holes.
